Actually, If everyone has a rollercoaster GP results, we might see the most unexpected GPF ever. Caro should fight for the spot in GPF this year. Last or not, she should fight and try to win it in China.

If she win in China she outscore Mao, but there is Rochette, who is very solid (? I think...)

I really hope that Caro doesn't qualify for the GPF.
She has Euros, Olys, and Worlds. It's just enough.

What's really difficult about that, I don't understand. All the football players, tennis players, basketball players etc play long matches in every week and not once, more than twice ... Competing twice for a month wouldn't be too difficult, in my opinion.

Of course it depends on Carolina . If she wants to rest well, even if she qualifies, she can withdraw and rest.

Performing well, having a good result and qualifying to one of the most prestigious competition are not that bad IMO. Rolling Eyes

Yes but Carolina is not a soccer player, she does have to come and go from the US->to Europe (she has to do Nationals in December and then see her family a little bit, and US->Asia (cup of china and gpf is she makes it). It's not that simple, doing an overseas flight affectes your body much more than travel from Barcelona to Chelsea.
Yes, other sportsman may do that, but if your focus is the Olympic Games, and you still have to work hard for that, the less you time you spend on a flight and recovering for jet lag, the better is.

I agree,it'd be better not to make the GPF. She has to gain confidence in this second gran prix, than focus it all on Euros.
If she'll win Euros, she'll present herself better at the Olympics, being Euro champ always means something for the judges.

Also, she will have time to perfect her jumps and coreography by then.

Perfectly said, Ele!

I think so too - making the GPF will only add more hassle and stress to the season. She would have to go back and forth so many times, it does affect your body, but it really affects your practice because you never have the chance to actually get into a routine again. Missing the GPF would mean that she has approx. 1,5 months without any competitions - just being in LA and focusing on training and getting everything together. Of course, making the GPF is prestigious, but I don't necessarily think it would be a good thing for her this year. Plus, she will have competed against most Oly Gold Contenders by then this season - Yu Na, Mao and Joannie...

I'd rather take Nats and Euros as the big test events for Olys.

Noone has to agree with me, but what I realised is that the more Caro competes, the more consistent she gets. Of course Caro is the who competes and who takes the necessary decisions.

...but we all know that Carroll is an experienced coach who knows what to do in an olympic season.

The article says that Mao wants to go on this way, but she's pressed by Japanese media and federation for a change.
Bad situation... it recalls me the period when Caro wanted to stay in Oberstdorf, and everybody wanted her to leave.

You mean this summer when she changed or it was some earlier situation?

So NHK finished...Miki won the competition. Leonova finished in 2th place while Wagner in 3th position.
I suppose Miki (15+15), Leonova (11+13) and Wagner (13+11) will go to the finale..
